Hire a WordPress Expert

Are you looking for a web designer to create your next WordPress theme? Maybe you want to transform your standard WordPress blog into a dynamic CMS web site that doesn’t resemble a blog in any way. If you’re ready to send us your ideas go ahead and jump to the general contact form, use the WP theme request form, otherwise, read-on for some more information about our WordPress expertise.

Custom CMS web sites (particularly WordPress themes) are our specialty. We’ve designed hundreds of WordPress themes and know the WordPress system from front-to-back. See what our clients have to say about our web design and development services.

Let’s say you want a custom theme built from scratch, and have some ideas about other sites you like or maybe just a general idea of the color scheme and layout. You can contact us with your ideas and we’ll get back to you with a proposal. If you have some model sites in mind, include the URLs (noting which aspects you like and which ones you don’t, etc) and any other requirements you would like to see implemented in your new WP theme. The more detailed your specs, the faster we can nail down a specific design. But if you’re not really sure we can start putting together graphic drafts and refine them as you decide which styles you like the best, and then go on to code your WordPress theme.

How much does custom WordPress theme design cost?

I’m often asked this question by those looking for a custom WordPress theme designer but aren’t too sure about what they want yet, and so I’ll tell you the same thing I say to others: It really depends on the complexity of design and if you want to installation of WordPress, plugins, etc. For this reason it’s important to hear what you have in mind before I can give you a fixed price. What I can say is that custom theme design starts at $165. While this would be for themes with more basic layouts, or converting a basic static site to WordPress (an additional fee may be charged for migrating content, depending on the volume), we know that our pricing is competitive and quality of service is top-notch.

What is included in your WordPress theme design services?

Attention to detail and commitment to quality are key practices. Every project comes with our 100% satisfaction guarantee:

if you ever find an error or adjustment that needs to be made to work we’ve done, no matter if one month of six months have passed, we will fix your site for no additional charge. Of course this applies to work that was done by us, but even if some mysterious error crops up and you’re unsure about the origin, contact us and we’ll take a look and let you know what the cause is. If it was part of our original work we will fix it for free. If not, we will get back to you with a very reasonable price for fixing things up. Either way, online consultation is always free.

Every WordPress theme comes with widget-ready sidebar(s) and contains cleanly formatted, and 100% valid HTML/PHP and CSS coding.

While there may be some special instances where a particular script requested by a client causes 1 or 2 HTML validation errors, we will let you know if there are any concerns or if these rare instances can be overlooked (depending on what the code in question is meant to do). For those unfamiliar, HTML validation of a site can be checked at  http://validator.w3.org/. The basic idea is that by making sites with ‘valid HTML/CSS’ we maximize browser-compatibility. While many smaller errors are inconsequential, the goal is to have a site that validates. As such, unless there is a specific need to implement 3rd-party code that is not ‘valid’, all our themes will come with valid HTML and CSS.

What about WordPress installation, plugin installation and extras like that?

Many of our long-term clients require somewhat regular plugin upgrades. As with all of our services, we offer reasonable rates and only charge you for active work hours –that is we can quote you a fixed price for smaller projects and an accurate price range for larger projects, then we only bill for actual time worked. (for fixed price projects, we will let you know if added specification increase the project price before doing the extra work)

Many clients prefer to have us install a handful of must have plugins when we create their custom WordPress theme. Some clients prefer to have the new theme emailed to them, and some prefer to have us install the theme on their site. If you opt for the latter, we offer installation of these useful plugins at no additional charge –plugins for automatic database backup and enhanced SEO. Our must have plugins used to include a couple more, but as WordPress evolves many of these functions have become core features. Such are the benefits of using the most popular blog/CMS platform: a thriving community of platform and plugin/widget developers.

Odds and ends

Some clients don’t need theme design, but need to have plugins modified or a specific error investigated and fixed. Sometimes when upgrading WordPress people need to find out if their plugins will be compatible with the newer WordPress version. As self-proclaimed WordPress experts, we’re equipped to deal with everything WP-related, from migrating databases to plugin modification.
