Unlike the author of this handy plugin I just discovered, I *have* had this annoying problem of getting locked out of WordPress wp-admin, several times. Even if you have database admin access, fixing this can be really frustrating and the problem isn’t always the same.

I had to take a minute to post when I came across this awesome plugin today. Simple, effective.

Download the plugin:
Reset Your Lost WordPress Administrator Password ['Emergency WordPress'] Plugin

Just upload emergency.php to your WP root and execute it in a browser (like http://yoursite.com/emergency.php). Enter your existing username and a new password.

Delete emergency.php file immediately after using.
