Interstice Solutions is a freelance web design and development business dedicated to meeting the web design and development needs of individuals and small businesses.
The sole proprietorship of Erin Bruce began in 2002 when she started working in a freelance capacity after studying various aspects of web development for 5 years while attending college.
For some projects she collaborates with a small network of trusted freelance colleagues as project manager to offer more comprehensive solutions when called for, though the vast majority of development work (whether coding, design of general web development) she does herself.
Primarily Erin Bruce works on WordPress driven sites, as she’s found it the easiest platform for clients to use and consistently has the largest variety of plugins -there are cooler, better, faster plugins being developed all the time!
The most common web development projects that come to Interstice Solutions are ‘the full package’ type WordPress projects including everything from installing WordPress, customizing a theme and configuration of plugins…and range up to custom WP design, custom programming for additional functionality.
Some of the projects I enjoy the most are the ones where the client has a clear vision of what they want the site to look and act like, and I am simply manifesting that vision. These clients are likely to have a layered PSD design already and all I need to do is slice it and add functionality.
That said, it can also be a lot of fun to walk a client through a full graphic design process, getting a feel for their preferences at each draft/revision, facilitating their ability to find the design that best fits their business, before the coding even begins.
Graphic Design
Clients unsure of the overall design are invited to submit an inquiry about dedicated graphic design service, which typically includes nearly infinite revisions and ends with a high-resolution, fully layered PSD file, which Erin Bruce can also code the PSD into an HTML site or, better yet, a custom WordPress theme. She offers discounts on project packages (for example, if you need a little bit of everything).
In addition to graphic design for full websites, Erin also provides quick turnaround for graphics such as logos, print materials, web graphics, etc. Just sent your specifications and she will respond with a bid.
Website Development
Erin’s specialties include everything-WordPress, whether creating and customizing themes, writing/editing plugins, HTML coding, CSS styling, PHP programming, and graphic design… As such the main projects she works on include a little bit of everything, and tend to involve going from square one all the way to a fully functional, tested website with all the bells and whistles of professional sites: caching, social site integration, compatibility testing.
